Motorised Blinds are one type of blind in our wide range of blinds at Village Blinds and Shutters. They are quickly becoming a popular choice to provide convenience and comfort in customers’ homes by automating their blinds.
With over 30 years of experience in crafting and kitting the homes of Northern Ireland out with blinds to suit their needs, our expert team offers free home consultations to review which type of blinds best suits your space.
Each motorised blind is individually crafted by our expert team, here in our County Antrim based factory, ensuring the very best quality for all our customers.
Our Motorised Blinds are a modern blinds solution to automate the control of your blinds at the touch of a button. When you have motorised blinds installed you will be able to use a remote to have them raise, lower, or in some blind types tilt. This is ideal for large or hard-to-reach windows, as well as homes with multiple blinds. Alternatively, you can also access controls on your smartphone, or integrate them into any smart home technology you use, via the TaHoma Home Hub, (available separately).
Our Motorised Blinds are available in a variety of types of blinds to suit your needs. These are Roller Blinds, Roman Blinds, Venetian Blinds, Wood Venetian Blinds, and Cellular Blinds. With each of these blinds, you will have full control at the touch of a button, making them extremely handy and easy to use.
Venetian Blinds are a corded blind that uses horizontal slats. These can be raised or lowered to open and close, or tilted to allow some or no light in. All of these adjustments will be automated when they are motorised giving you full control. They are available in over 100 colours and can have a fascia over the headrail as an extra to help fit the style of your room.
Wooden Venetian Blinds are a corded blind that use horizontal slats. The only difference with other Venetian Blinds is that they are made using wooden slats. They can also be raised or lowered to open and close and then tilted to allow some or no light in. Motorisation will provide full control over these as well. They are available in over 20 colours and can have an added fascia on the headrail to help fit the style in your room.
Roller Blinds are blind that uses fabric that rolls down from a headrail to cover the window. When they are motorised they can be automatically raised or lowered. There is a wide variety of fabrics and colours available to suit your needs.
Cellular Blinds are a blind that uses hexagonal pleats to extend and retract into the headrail. This allows it to compress into a minimal size. When they are motorised they can automatically be raised or lowered. There are different styles of fabric available for cellular blinds to suit different needs.
Roman Blinds are fabric blind that raise into a cascade fold, giving a classic and sophisticated look. When they are motorised they can be automatically raised and lowered. There are a wide variety of fabric and designs available so as to best suit your style and needs.
Aura Blinds function very similarly to Roller Blinds but use alternating horizontal bands of solid colour and transparency to allow for greater control over how much light can enter your room. They are a very contemporary and modern look that combines style and functionality. They come in a range of fabrics and colours to help fit any style of home.
By using SOMFY motorisation systems in our motorised blinds we are able to provide the top standard of blind innovation. With more than 50 years of developing blind technology to assist millions of users around the world, they provide an unrivalled quality. With the ability to integrate into smart home systems such as Nest or Alexa through the Tahoma System, this is the ultimate upgrade to any blinds. Village Blinds and Shutters are proud to be the only certified Somfy Expert based in County Antrim, meaning that you benefit from our detailed product knowledge and technical expertise.
*Some functions such as voice or smartphone control requires additional equipment, (including a Tahoma Hub).
We have multiple power options available for our motorised blinds. They can be made using rechargeable packs which can provide months of use out of a single charge. Alternatively, they can be connected to mains power, something which is particularly popular in new build homes. Finally, we can also connect them to solar power if this is available in your home. This provides a triple charge that is more environmentally conscious.
Our Motorised Blinds can allow for a variety of methods for control over multiple channels across multiple rooms. Multi-Channel means that your control will have different channels which control one or multiple blinds. This can then also be split by room as well. This gives easier control over multiple blinds.
We can also add the ability to connect your blinds to other devices. This would allow for smart home integration into devices that you would use to control other aspects of your home such as temperature or music.
